For Hiking France Vacations and your France walking Holiday, we offer a choice of accommodation to enjoy Provence walking at its best based at our comfortable Villa in the protected les Alpilles National Park- only created in 2008.

As enthusiastic walkers ourselves we are happy to offer organised guided walks for our guests or recommend a wide variety of self-guided Provence walking routes. Beautiful, scenic Provence walking tours start just minutes by foot from the villa. The Alpilles or 'little Alps' are now a National protected park-the Parc Natural Régional des Alpilles- with the head-quarters at nearby St Remy de Provence.

A typical week's Provence walking tour would be:

Arrive Saturday- transfer provided from Avignon, Nimes or Marseille airports or Arles or Avignon TGV / SNCF train stations. Afternoon spent discussing the Provence walking trips proposed for your France walking holiday followed by a delicious freshly prepared three course dinner on the villa's balcony with great Provence countryside views. We always try to use local produce and regional recipes.

Sunday- after breakfast a gentle start to your France Walking Holiday around our village of Maussane and returning via the foothills of the Alpilles looking down on the Villa and village below.
Lunch on the village square with afternoon relaxing by the heated pool at the villa or snoozing on a hammock up in our private woodlands in the sculpture garden.
Dinner again on our balcony.

Monday- after breakfast a full Provence walking day in the Alpilles with packed lunch provided. Dinner at the Villa after a well-earned swim and perhaps an aperitif in our woodland sculpture garden.

Tuesday- after breakfast, a full day's Provence walking wine tour to Chateauneuf du Pape with wine-tasting at several vineyards. Picnic in the castle ruins with wonderful views towards Avignon and the Ventoux mountain-range and further visits to one or 2 vineyards and finally to a ch

Wednesday is a full day trip with picnic , stopping for a visit to Aigues Mortes on the way, to a Camargue beach with long walks along the sea-shore. Normally we can see flocks of pink flamingos, Camargue white horses and black bulls. There are several species of bird unique to the Camargue.

Thursday- after breakfast a short walk round to our own market in Maussane to find souvenirs and presents for back home and see the wonderful fresh Provence produce. In the afternoon you can join us for a guided walk around neighbouring village of Le Paradou with a visit to the castle ruins and wonderful views over La Crau, a vaste flat wet and dry steppe land. Dinner after a swim back at the villa is delicious barbecued free-range chicken bought at the market!

Friday- after breakfast a full day excursion to the nearby famous hill top village of Les Baux de Provence, with its partially ruined castle and fortifications and within the walls a wide variety of shops, museums and restaurants. A walk back to the villa- downhill- or transport if needed! Final dinner back at the Villa

Saturday- after breakfast and perhaps final swim in our well-heated pool, time to leave- but extended stays are quite possible with departure on Sunday or later!

COST- 750 EUROS for a 7 day walking holiday in Provence- per person to include all above transport, itemised meals with accommodation in a twin/double en-suite bedroom with UK satellite TV and DVD player plus tea and coffee making facility in each room. Prices based on 2 sharing to include return transport to Avignon, Nimes or Marseille airports or Arles or Avignon TGV stations.

Other meals are available on request but there is a wide choice of restaurants and cafés just a short walk from the villa.
