Our south of france Art Holiday allows you to combine relaxing by our heated pool with a selection of Provence Art tour to see some of the fine works of art created in this region of the south of France such as by Cezanne and Van Gogh.

The superb light has encouraged many famous painters such as Van Gogh, Cezanne , Matisse and Gauguin to come to Provence as resident artists

In addition we can provide a guided Provence art tour or advise on a self guided art tour to one of many towns with wonderful art galleries, exhibitions and related sites nearby:-

Van Gough route to include his gallery at Arles and even a visit to the sanatorium that he stayed in at St Remy- now still a nursing home.

Cezanne’s art studio in Aix-en-Provence and associated gallery with some of his works on permanent exhibition along with many other famous artists.

All of the above are within 10 minutes to an hour of La Pinede as are the many galleries of Marseille- the second city of France, and Montpellier- our favourite city in France with the now fully restored Favre art museum and gallery. Lodeve also has an excellent permanent exhibition but a little further away to the west of Montpellier.

Out of the heat of our busy high summer period we are happy to offer mid to long-term writing residencies for writers to enjoy the peace of Villa la Pinede during their writing residency here in Provence. We can also offer a photography residency with ample places to visit locally to capture perfect images.

If you want to be a visiting artist in Provence and use the same light that inspired Van Gogh and Cezanne, we can offer art residencies with limited art facilities here but also with an art studio in nearby St Remy de Provence and also introduce you to a professional French artist who has a studio in nearby Istres
